Best-Horror-Movies.com was started in early 2006 by Don Sumner, a highly "un-technical" individual but a passionate horror freak. Hoping that the love for the horror genre would overcome a complete lack of computer and website skills, BHM was launched with one thing in mind - Defy the "Horror Inteligencia"!

Who are the "Horror Inteligencia" you ask? Well, they are the people that clearly (in their own minds) know more about film, especially horror, than any mere mortal could possibly know. They typically have a year or so of film school, maybe several years of free-lance writing and an ego the size of California under their belts, and they proceed to pontificate about which horror movies are appropriately artful and which are mindless drivel. Unfortunately for me and those of a similar mind, they are almost ALWAYS WRONG!

Due to the ridiculous (and numerous) nature of these individuals, and their seeming infiltration of every popular horror movie site in existence, Don (known now as "The Horror Czar" on BHM) set out to create something with a dose of reality in mind - horror movies are fun! Thanks to the efforts of a few early contributors, notably "The Zombie Master" Lee Roberts and "B-Movie Specialist" Ronnie Angel, BHM was off and running. Today BHM has several incredible contributors along with a ton of enthusiastic site visitors to provide thoughtful content, often peppered with Horror Freak Brilliance. The Ossuary, the Best-Horror-Movies.com online community was launched due to popular demand in 2008.

After months of thought and piles of crumpled notebook paper, the essence of Best-Horror-Movies.com and the accompanying horror community The Ossuary is captured in the following tome entitled "The BHM Manifesto".
