Description
Artist/Designer/Crafts(wo)man
I am deeply interested in cinema. The two genres that hold the most intrigue in my life are horror (anything with demons or some catholic twist, Italian horrors, 80's camp, Hammer House, and most recently: gorno) and dark fantasy, ala Dark City, The Running Man, The City of Lost Children, etc. Well, vintage sci-fi dystopian futurism is pretty sweet, too (i.e. Logan's Run, Barbarella, The Time Machine...).

Music gets my creative juices flowing and movies keep it going. I lean toward classic rock (Pink Floyd, Doors, ...), heavy metal (Iron Maiden, Megadeth, ...), j-rock (Malice Mizer, Moi dix Mois, ...), gothrock (Rasputina, Bauhaus, ...), old school punk (Stooges, X, ...), and the quirky nostalgia of new wave (Siouxsie, The Smiths, ...). Sometimes dark electronica/industrial can be popped in the mix, such as Project Pitchfork and Schwarz Stein. And I'm inlove with anything that pokes fun at the profane, i.e. GWAR.

I pretty much dabble in any and every type of art, or at least have an active desire to. I like to construct things, take them apart, figure out how they work, and improve upon them or just use the pieces for something completely different.

I have a problem staying focused on one project at a time, so I tend to have multiples running; however, most are not seen through to completion (that would be the downside of my obsessive artistic mania). I hope to acquire the ability to keep ontrack as I get older and more stable, even if, at the moment, it does appear that I'm regressing.

Right now I'm working on my sculpting proficiency in the hopes of elevating to a level that can get my foot into the SFX industry, even if the old school methods are being pushed out by digital FX. L.A. is my 2009 destination. So, I have half a year of reading and experimenting and praying for a miracle. Practice makes perfect. And aren't animatronix, puppets, and robots the bloody coolest?
