FAQ
An ossuary is a chest, building, well, or site made to serve as the final resting place of human skeletal remains.
An Ossuary can take several forms, including a crypt or tomb of sorts where the bones of many people are laid out together. Sometimes they are used to decorate the walls and create religious scenes as well as chandeliers and other hanging fineries.
Remember Cemetery Man? The first kiss between the zombie killer and the fair maiden happened in the ossuary. What better place for Horror Freaks to congregate?
Getting Started
1. Enter The Ossuary Homepage at www.theossuary.com. Click “Join Now” in the top right corner.
2. Create your unique user name and add the requested information. Don’t forget “Tags”, which are search terms others will use to find you! Use single words separated by commas.
3. Review and accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
4. Log into The Ossuary using your username and password.
What can I do in The Ossuary?
1. Create your profile:
• Click on “My Profile” in the top right corner. Choose “Edit Profile” and make sure you have the information you want to share listed there.
• Click on “Customize Profile” and let your creativity shine.
• Click on “My Pix” to upload photos to your personal photo gallery.
• Click on “My Music” to upload some of your favorite songs to play when folks view your profile.
• Click on “My Videos” to record a greeting video (if your PC has a webcam)
• Click on “My Blog” to create a personal blog to share with your new horror community.
2. The Ossuary Forums - Show your horror movie wisdom (and make some new friends)
• Find the menu bar across the top part of the page (The Ossuary Home, BHM Home, Members, Forums, etc…) Click on “Forums”.
• Check Out “Forum Spy” to see what’s being talked about right now!
• Find a topic that intrigues you and jump right in! Members can post unlimited replies and new topics. If there isn’t a discussion you find interesting then start your own!
3. Join or start a group
• Click on “Groups” on the menu bar. Here you will see listings for groups of like-minded folks in a number of categories.
• If you see a group that interests you, join it! If you don’t, start it!
• Each group has it’s own discussion forum.
4. Watch or Upload Videos.
• Click on “Videos” on the menu bar. Here you can watch videos and upload your own – HorrorTube, if you will…
5. View and share photos with other members
• Click on “Photos” on the menu bar. Here you can browse pics from other members and upload your own.
6. Share Music with other members of The Ossuary
• Click on “Music” on the menu bar. Here you can listen to music uploaded by others and share your own! This is different from the personal music that only shows on your profile… The Music Gallery is shared by all!
7. Participate in Polls – or create your own for The Ossuary members to take!
• Click on “Polls” on the menu bar. Here you can see the Polls that others have created. Make your voice heard.
• Click on “My Polls” and create a poll that will be shared with others on your profile and on The Ossuary Homepage.
8. Share an Event
• Click on “Events” on the menu bar. Choose “Add Event” and tell us about that can’t-miss event coming up. Don’t forget to upload a picture to go with it!
9. Invite others to join you on The Ossuary
• On the Top menu bar (very, very top) you will see both “Invite a friend” and “Send eCard”. You can use these to let your friends know about your new horror home or remember them on their special day.
10. Add Feedback
• Also on the Top (Very Top) menu is a place for you to add feedback to Best-Horror-Movies.com and The Ossuary. Let us know how we’re doing and what other cool features you would like to see! The Ossuary is for and about YOU – so let us know how we can do better.
