Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor the guys behind Crank will be directing the latest installment of Ghost Rider called Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.  According to Brian Taylor fan will get to see a "darker and scarier and kinda nastier and more awesome" version of Ghost Rider than fans saw before.   This is stark contrast to what people were saying that saw a early screening at Harry Knowles' annual BNAT Birthday Bash in Austin.   They pretty much said the movie sucked, which is hard to believe after watching the trailer below.  Maybe they are right, we have been fooled by trailers before.

Columbia Pictures will present Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance 3D in theaters nationwide on February 17, 2012.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is directed by Mark Neveldine (Crank) and Brian Taylor (Crank: High Voltage) and stars Nicolas Cage (Drive Angry 3D), Ciarán Hinds (The Women in Black)  and Idris Elba (Prometheus).

Synopsis:
"In the successor to the worldwide hit 'Ghost Rider,' Johnny - still struggling with his curse as the devil's bounty hunter - is hiding out in a remote part of Eastern Europe when he is recruited by a secret sect of the church to save a young boy (Fergus Riordan) from the devil (Ciaran Hinds). At first, Johnny is reluctant to embrace the power of the Ghost Rider, but it is the only way to protect the boy - and possibly rid himself of his curse forever."
