I can't seem to find evidence of any good horror coming to theaters for the month of May.  Some great DVDs, but I like horror on the big screen too.

What am I missing?

The one that I am eagerly waiting for is "Midnight Meat Train" set to be released May 16th.

It is taken from a Clive Barker story from his Books of Blood (great collection of short stories) and is directed by Ryuhei Kitamura who's credits include Aragami, Azumi, and a very cool Japanese zombie flick entitled Versus.

Yes, lots of hopes for "Meat train", and a lot of remakes to come I hope not as bad as "Prom Night" and "April fool's day".

I see Midnight Meat Train with the following global release schedule:

South Korea  –  29 May 2008
France  –  11 June 2008
Netherlands  –  3 July 2008
Russia  –  17 July 2008
USA  –  1 August 2008
Spain  –  14 November 200

That wouldn't appear to count as May for here in the sticks of Tennessee.

I grabbed the trailer thought and it looks freakin awesome - damn... and it has Brooke Shields in it...Tongue out

 Check It Out!

thanx, keep us informed coz when it will be released in france , I want to know if it's worth it or not. That's the good thing about being later than others, you already know what to think about a film if it's a big crap, for a master piece it's a matter of taste.

I want to see The Strangers too! They are doing a ton of promotion and Horror Queen (From right here at BHM) is going to be at the pre-screening if possible and give us a review shortly.  I think she even blogged about it. Looks incredibly scary... those films that are inside the realm of what could conceivably happen are particularly scary to me.

I agree. It looks good. I plan on seeing it this Friday. I hope I'm not totally disappointed. It's about time for a good horror movie. I feel a lot of movies mess up when they try to add a plot twist, but I hope they keep it conceivable.

HEY GUESS WHAT!!!

LIONSGATE's SCREWING WITH US!  lol.

Moved it again for US release.  It's a good thing this time though.

Moved up to July 11th to go head to head with Hellboy II:  The Golden Army.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

There is a movie called Quarantined to be released very soon.  It's a re-make of a Spanish film called (rec).  It's about a film crew that follows a Hazmat team into a quaratined apartment building in L.A., so the footage is hand-held-camera-style (a-la-cloverfield).  The residents have been transformed into carnivorous zombies with jagged teeth and pasty white-oozing-open-sore-covered skin.  The powers off in the building so the only light seems to be from the camera.  You get glimpses of creatures and then alot of yelling and blood and running.  I like the look of the preview.  You can check it out @ Upcoming Horror Movies . com v(UHM).

From what I hear, The Ruins is supposed to be amazing.  I wanna see it too.

Oh and about the postings on Midnight Meat Train?  While it's not head to head with Hellboy 2 now, it is head to head with Mummy 3.  lol.

Petalbo and I are currently marveling at the unintentional (we think) hilarity of it over in the Unintentionally Funny Horror Movies thread.  Personally, I know I was laughing and wondering just how stupid it was going to get for a lot of the movie...but it crossed over into abject comedy hilarity when Wahlberg started talking to the houseplant.
