I may catch hell for this but here goes...I think that the Halloween franchise is way over-rated.  I mean, the first one is a hands down, no doubt about it classic...and I liked part 2 alright...but after that?  Part 3, I didn't like whether I would consider it part of the franchise or not.  Part 4 on, just not good.

I think that, even though no "Friday the 13th" installment was as great as the first "Halloween", it's a far superior franchise.  There were peaks and valleys with Jason, but every Part 5 was redeemed by a Part 6.

Michael Myers is no Jason Vorhees!

no hell--but definite disagreement.  My reasons are in my 6/19 post on the "Halloween" thread.

I respect the opinions of the Jason and Freddy fans, but I just don't see how either one holds a candle to Myers.

I own the first 10 Friday the 13th movies and I consider them good and fun, but really each one is just 90 minutes of bad acting and cheap kills, like the middle part of the Halloween series (I liked H2O and the first two alot).

The most I ever enjoyed Jason was in Jason Vs Freddy--I loved that one.  So speak your mind Tways and don't worry about the hell-- I don't.  Fuck it--you either like it or you don't and we all disagree all the time.

Halloween was so great in that it took suburbia and totally fucked it up. You're never safe in the woods, so Jason really didn't break any new ground there. For good film making and good old fasion horror, you have to go with Halloween. For straight carnage (which I value above almost everything else), Jason is the man. It's apples and oranges really. Add Freddy in the mix and its like asking who your favourite stooge is. I definately don't think Halloween is overrated though. Even the shit later movies continued to tell a story. And I loved Rob Zombie's version, but that dude could film grass growing and make it disturbing.

How is Freddy Shemp?  People forget Shemp.  I'dve made Candyman Shemp.

If God turns his DVD player on on 10-31, John Carpenter's Halloween is in it.  Even the name of the movie was brilliant.  And the music makes the devils dance.
