Hi horror friends,

Again, I've been away for a while.  I had surgery 6 weeks ago and I'm still recovering...it's been a long haul and I've got a ways to go...I'm not sure if I'll even be able to dress up this year! :(   I am hoping I will have a chance to wear my vampire dress...

During my recovery, I watched several scary movies (of course).

I watched 30 Days of Night again...I really do love that movie.

Burnt Offerings, one of my childhood faves came on cable and I watched that one; the chauffer still creeps me out!

I'm getting into True Blood on HBO...very sexy!

Trailer Park of Terror...kind of campy and fun...and gross...

The Reeker....pretty good story.

I know I watched more, I just can't remember right now.

Hope everyone is well and ready for Halloween!!  I bought candy early...big mistake....it's all gone!

Hi Nan!

Sorry that you had medical issues - hope that everything is Okay... I know that you are the "outdoorsy" type and will be back camping and hiking (and avoiding Jason) soon enough.

It's funny about 30 Days of Night - there have been several threads from folks that don't like that film at all, but I disagree and am more with you on it - I like it. I think to focus on details like "the vampires would have smelled them in the attic" is nit-picky and not in the spirit of horror... just about every film can be picked apart if that is your goal.

Hopefully we'll see you out and about in the forums a bit - and look out for the video I'm going to post of the haunted house this year... I hope it's well received by the kiddies.

WOOO! Welcome back.

As for 30 Days of Night, I can't speak to it since I haven't seen it.  But I tend to give anything a fair shot.

Hope your recovery goes well.

I'm sorry to hear about your surgery--hope your recuperation doesn't drag on too much longer.

I liked 30 Days of Night pretty well--it's one of the better horror movies I've seen in the theater in a long time.  It's not the best horror movie in the world, I didn't think it was bad at all.

Of course, now that I think about it, it's been a long time since I've seen a vaguely decent horror movie...anywhere.  I probably need to see anything, anything at all (even if it's Quarantine) before I'm drummed off this site.

You know, Burnt Offerings is one of those movies I probably really should have seen but haven't...hmmm...
