This 1957 flick is by the inimitable Richard Matheson (A Stir of Echoes, I Am Legend, etc) and it was on late last night on TV. I planned all week to stay up and watch it, had my coffee, got a decent sugar high going, and was really enjoying it. Anything with a real spider in it will freak me out, no matter how cheesy the movie. And I was laughing hard at the whole bit where he's all morose about becoming a puny man, and the cheesy special effects as he's shrinking :) Anyway, I tried to stay awake for it all but all of sudden BAM it's morning. I fell asleep at around the point where he's just managed to climb that shelf thing to get food and he's looking through some wire mesh at a bird outside the house. Much as I'm loathe to be one of "those people" who ask things like this, can someone fill me in on how it ends from there? Spare no grisly detail :)

I will because I love this movie and it took years to come out on DVD.
In a nutshell he ends up waxing poetically about our place in the universe and eventually shrinks into nothingness like smaller than an atom.
Thanks. I've now ordered the DVD, it was cheap so what the hell :)
