Has anyone seen this? It has become one of my favorites recently. It stars a young Anthony Hopkins, Ann Margret, and Burgess Meredith and it was directed by Richard Attenborough. The characters and acting are terrific (especially Hopkins). It's about a failed magician named Corky (Hopkins) who re-invents his act as a ventriloquist. He was on the verge of superstardom when his manager (Meredith) questions whether Corky is suffering from multiple personality disorder and that he hears his dummy talking to him. That's when the movie starts getting good. We don't know if the dummy is really alive or if Corky is crazy. Corky takes some time off to clear his head at a bed-and-breakfast run by his high-school crush (Margret), but let's just say that the dummy has other plans in store. I recommend that everyone either rent or buy this one, it's really good and suspenseful.

I haven't thought about this movie for along time, yes this movie is really good. I was seven years old when this movie was out. I was scared to death. I couldn't look at any kind of puppet or store manikin without peeing on myself. I had a really nice aunt who thought it was funny for me to be scared so she would get manikins and chase me with them.
Your right I think everyone should see this movie.
yes -- great movie
Great Flick! My Dad Used To Scare The Hell Out Of Me When I Was Little & This Came On... To This Day Wooden Dummies Creep Me Out!
i watched it for the first time a few months back. I thought it was very good! I love Anthony Hopkins. He is one of the best actors in the world. Definitely a psychological thriller!
