They were at the Rue Morgue Festival last year...tis one of my life's goals to scrape together a passport and get up there one year.

haha-- ok--hell probably 17-18-19 years ago-- something like that, I was working with this guy mike bishop.  One day he says to me,  we're playing at so-so(idon't remember which-- brain fry days-- little place on laurel i think -- we;ll anyway.  he said you ought to come see us.  i knew he was in a band, but a hell, half the people were-- you didn't really take it seriously.  He was a very quiet, laid back guy and I asked him what kind of music they played -- he said, did you like KISS and I said yeah and he said you'll love us then.  Now i had heard of GWAR at this point, but they were just a little local band-- no exposure yet or anything.  They had an old converted school bus they drove around with GWAR and other stuff painted all over it.  Well we to see em and needless to say they were not KISS-- out comes the giant penis and the battle axes and the blood a flyin-- and I'm like holy shit.  Very cool indeed.  Mike's not with em anymore -- he missed their sucess -- he was their first bass player.
