If you do not know already, 2008 marks the 40th anniversary of one of the most influential horror films of all time, Night of the Living Dead. To mark this glorious occasion, the master himself, George A. Romero has personally supervised the remastering of the original 1968 classic. It will be released on May 20th, the same day that Diary of the Dead will be released. It will contain special features such as the last interview with Duane Jones and the thing that I am most interested in, audio commentary by the great Romero. Mark the date on your calendar, camp outside your local super-duper department store and let me know what you think.

I'm slightly excited, but more nervous to see how this film will turn out. I'm really losing faith in the film industry.

I am with you. I lost faith in the mainstream film industry a long time ago.

I have yet to lose faith in Mr. Romero however. I trust no one else with his own work.

"Diary of the Dead" is ten times better then "Land ...", so let's have faith in the future, or in a real zombie outbreak, who knows!

I liked the movie "Land of the Dead". I felt sorry for the Zombie mowing the parking lot, he was having fun mowing that parking lot, he even did his little Zombie dance as he mowed. I know he was a decoy but gee I liked him.

Ok guys. It's out so tell me what you think about it. I will admit that I have yet to watch the actual film. I have been mulling over the added features and I have not been disappointed. Especially with the Duane Jones interview. Very enlightening. Also, although NOTLD is still in public domain, Romero is actually making money on this release because of the extras so if you are going to buy a copy, this is the one because you will be supporting the man himself.

Romero is no industry dupe...He gets it done his way, or not at all.
