I just watched Stephen Kings "The Mist" and thought it was done well. My only complaint would be the lack of variance with the creatures. They could have used something different than spiders in the parking lot scene. The gargantuan creatures were unsettling, very creepy. Unlike many reviewers, I liked the ending, it was very...well, Stephen King. The story was engaging, a simple premise that steadily built into a horror frenzy. The humans were even worse than the creatures.
Overall, 4 out of 5 stars for me.

The Mist

The Mist was an awesome movie and was one of my favorite King stories that I wanted to be made into a movie. I think that King is one of the best writers in that he is able to capture the human condition so well. To be honest we are all capable of dehumanizing if the proper situation presents itself. Another on that I would love to see is Survivor Type. That is a story that for years has kept me on edge. I lived in Hawaii for a about a year and one of the things I did was take a boat tour to see some of the smaller islands that were being created and such. There was one particular little spot that freaked me out because it was a picture perfect description on the island in that story.
OMG, I thought The Mist was incredible. I liked the ending - even though I typically enjoy the nice, neat "good triumphs over evil" endings... and this was certainly not one of those. I even named The Mist to the Top 10 Horror Movies of 2007, and Wrote a Review Here.
This was one of the better Stephen King adaptations in my book.
