Got an idea for a new game.  I'll start with an OBSCENELY easy one to give everyone the idea.  Here's how it works:  Make a list of as many or as few of the stars of a horror movie as you want.  Everyone else has to guess the movie.  Everybody ready?  Like this:

Heather Langenkamp

Johnny Depp

John Saxon

Lin Shaye

Amanda Wyss

Ronee Blakeley

NAME THAT MOVIE!

As far as I've been able to determine, only two have been made: the original + one sequel. I don't know who was in the sequel, so this only applies to the original.

The tricky part, besides its being Japanese, is that I didn't list the main character actors. These are bit players.

By now y'all probably have enough info to simply guess it.

They actually filmed a seperate sequel as if the first sequel didn't exist because it was not taken well and then they did a prequel that was actually pretty creepy. Good viewing if you get you like J-Horror (which I do).

With all of this collaberative discussion between us Pastor I would have thought someone would have guessed by now.

Is response to your question the first #2 film did not have the name of the original in it. The third film, or second #2 was "NameOfMovie 2". For prequels though, the Japanese usually (though not always) use #0, so the fourth film was "NameOfMovie 0"

The Ring Virus could be classified as #5 but it could also be classified as a reimagining of Ringu. It was a Korean/Japanese film that was supposed to be a closer adaptation of Koji Suzuki's novel. Although I could be accused of splitting hairs, I had a problem with Sadako not being the main villain.
