I don't think this has been done yet.

What type of movie scares you the most?  You're all alone in a dark house--what movies do you pop in to really creep yourself out--or at least try?

Ghosts, supernatural occurances, demonic, zombies, vampires, slashers, psychopaths and serial killers, wild animals, or something else?  What does it for you?

With me, I think it's the stalking/claustrophobic type like Alien, the Descent, The Shining, even the scene in the public bathroom in High Tension.  Anything where you can't go anywhere-escape not possible and the Monster/villian could be anywhere and is probably creeping up on you right NOW!!!

Where do you get your willies?

If I'm all alone, something like When A Stranger Calls (original) and I cannot watch The Exorcist by myself...EVER!

OMG! What scares me most would be Jaws! It can happen it has happened and it will happen. Its their nature to hunt and if you are in the water when they are hungry you're dinner!

The demonic and supernatural (anything that my shotgun can't fix in other words). The thought of some malevolent being that I cannot see, sense, or better yet harm back bothers me more than any zombie, or inbred-hockey mask wearing cannibal wielding a chainsaw. The Exorcist, The Entity, Suspiria always seem to mess with me because of it.

That and spiders. Parts of The Mist still bother me, and same goes for Return of the King.

I can't even swim in a pool without hearing the Jaws theme in my head.

Movies about anything creepy crawly (especially spiders) really get to me. I pick my feet off the floor and look all around to make sure nothing's getting ready to crawl on me.

Supernatural films. Especially ones that are very atmospheric. The descent, The Gravedancers, Suspiria, etc. Drag me to Hell creeped me out a little too.

The shining used to scare me to death when I was about thirteen. I don't really know why, but it just creeped me the hell out.

For me it is the supernatural freaky stuff if anything. Dark Remains was the last one that actually gave me the chills, then Rose Red before that. All in all very few movies can do it to me anymore. Even the Exorcist didn't do it for me as a kid. I would have to go tuck my sister in bed after we watched it and give her the bible and turn the night light on, and that was with no sound (she refused to watch it with the volume up)!LMAO! But I was afraid to flush the toilet for like 3 months after Ghoulies! LOL

Not much really scares me.  When I was little the toilet scared me like SoulReaver, because of Ghoulies.  Mimic did however scare me due to my preexisting phobia.

I love abandoned mental institution movies.

Agreed, and there simply aren't enough of those.

Anything with a desolate atmosphere, that has both open and closed spaces, which in that case the supernatural can get really intense if introduced.  So yeah I'm totally with you on that one Orlandofan.

I don't like The return of house on haunted hill.

It scared me, but the dead nurse was hot.

I want to say movies with characters like Jason Vorhees and Michael Meyers. Not that the movies themselves really scared me, it's more the concept that gets to me. I like an evil I can talk to and negotiate with, you know the kind where you can just give them other people in exchange for you (I'm selfish like that). It's the ones that are just going to mow you down no matter what and no one's going to remember you as anything other than "that blonde in the sleeping bag that got bashed to death against a tree". I prefer evil that plays with its victims and interacts, but then everyone says I'm like a cat so I suppose it's no surprise. I guess it's more of a philosophical, belated kind of scared, because when the movies playing I find those deaths freaking hilarious, I just wouldn't want to end up that way.

That scene at the end of Arachnophobia when the spiders swarm the house still gets me squirming no matter how many times I watch it.

horror movies with clowns in scare me the most!!!

Despite a really lacklustre ending, IT is still a definite favourite of mine (like you can't tell from my avatar lol). Very effective shot at the beginning with the little girl spotting Pennywise through the sheets hanging on the clothesline. The transition between the first image of him smiling, to the second of his snarling sharp-toothed grin, is really well done.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.  The movie's great....but part of me always laughs at some of the things in the book that shall we say were on the cutting room floor.

Horror movies that has something related with children, like Milagros Prohibidos, El Espinazo del Diablo (The Devil's Backbone), Yu-On, Ringu, and the masterpiece: The Exorsist (among others). All those movies that show us that the image of a child can be a great way to scare people.
